At Newly Weds Foods Limited we use three areas of research and testing to ensure you get the product you want.

Consumer Research

Changing consumer demand drives the fast moving nature of Food Product development.  Many factors influence this change, exotic holiday destinations, lifestyle changes, need for convenience and the influence of Celebrity Chefs all play a part in shaping the Food trends that we see evolving.

As a leading provider of Flavour, Texture and Appearance enhancements for food products, Newly Weds Foods Limited must stay in tune with the needs of consumers and ensure that our range of Food Ingredients fully reflect the changing market requirements.

Consumer listening panels are carried out as a direct and effective means of investigating and clarifying the needs of consumers now and into the future.

Preference Testing

Comprises of a group of over 75 people.

Enables us to gauge the opinions of "The Consumer at Large"

Consists of sampling several food samples and rating the samples on a scale of 1 to 10.

Sensory Analysis

  • Non-Descriptive Testing is used to detect differences between products.

    • The "Degree of Difference" Test: this is used to determine how different a sample is from the target.

    • The "Triangle" Test: out of three samples, one is different and two are the same. Members of the panel are required to identify the sample that is different.

    • The "Duo-Trio" Test: this consists of a reference, and two samples. Members of the panel are asked to pick the sample that is the same as the reference.

    • The "Preference" Test: this determines preferred samples and/or attributes.

    • The "Paired Comparison" Test: this is used to measure individual attribute differences that exist between samples.

  • Descriptive Savoury Testing concentrates on flavour, odour, and aspect. It is also effective with projects requiring in depth sensory analysis such as descriptions, scoring and so forth.

  • Descriptive Texture Testing concentrates on Texture and Coated products.

In all cases, a statistical approach is used to determine the degree of difference or preference.
